The Charles C. Richards House Historic Bed and Breakfast was built in 1893 in the Queen Anne Revival Style as a private home for the President of the Minards Liniment Company.  One of two brick mansions ever built in the Province of Nova Scotia, this award winning restoration honors its late Victorian architecture while its interior décor highlights the art deco craze of the 1930’s and 40’s.

Recipients of the Yarmouth County Historical Society’s Restoration of the Year Award 2001 and the Nova Scotia Home Award as Restoration of the Year 2001 the home boosts a fine interior accented in Pennsylvania Cherry, Quartison and Tiger Oak, inlaid hardwood flooring, stain glass and the only Tropical Conservatory on the Southwestern Shore.  The finest feature of this Bed and Breakfast is its 45’ hand carved oak staircase flanked in a diagonal of stain glass windows.
